In 2012 I engaged a contemporary composer’s approach to come up with a concept that would allow me to intuitively create electro tracks without the type of analysis that I had previously been practising whilst composing electroacoustic pieces. I did this by “stripping down” my resources to a bare minimum; limited equipment, reduced production time and a language I didn’t speak (French). The result was Lo-Fi electro-pop and many gigs in clubs and venues in Berlin and beyond. By 2014 I felt experienced enough in the genre to develop the complexity of my tracks and start writing songs in English.
